GIVING OUT CELL NUMBERS AND BB PIN

Image
This is one thing i have been trying to rant on for quite sometime. Is it me or some people find it convenient to just give out someone's cell number or BB Pin without asking them? So i met this dude at a party one time. For starters i wasn't feeling him in the sense that i just saw him as part of the mix in the crowd, was 99.1% sure that i wont see him again after the party, i think he was trying to strike a convo and i made a rude comment, you know when you replay the convo in your head one would have assumed that he would not talk to me after that, but guess what when he was leaving he came to say goodbye and the following morning. I got a BB request. It was him. One of the Judas's called "a friend" gave him my PIN. Okay i am sure you are like "it shouldn't be a big deal" Maybe it isn't, some hunters make sure they go for the kill and won't rest till the get it, my "friend" just handed me like prey. And not only that she d...

10 THINGS I LEARNED FROM READING GENTLEWOMAN

Image
GENTLEWOMAN  is an awesome book written by Enitan Bereola. I believe that every female should read this book and males too. Here are few things i learned from reading the book 1. Overly caring what everyone thinks is the perfect way to live a meaningless life, but lets face it, not caring for yourself and others isn't living at all. 2. Society cannot function without the presence of a lady. First and foremost children come into the world from a lady. 3. When you chase a man, he is running from you. 4. Do not offer the least and expect the most 5. Class cant be purchased, people should be able to tell what you stand for by the way you carry yourself, not the purse you carry. 6. Pretty might open doors but intellect lets you in don't be stuck outside with your pretty ass. 7. Don't take everything personal, sometimes people's problems with you is really their problem with themselves. 8. Don't correct a stranger who mispronounces a word, instead use the w...

FOOL FOR LOVE: £50000 ON 99 IPHONE 6S TO PROPOSE TO GIRL FRIEND

Image
Wonders shall never end. I have seen all sorts of foolishness but nothing greater than what i read today on The Telegraph UK. A man spent fifty thousand pounds, about 17 years salary for an average worker, to buy about 99 Iphone 6S  to propose to his girlfriend, and she said NO. Sounds like he got 99 problems and she wont be WON. Dang, that's really cold, truthfully . I don't blame her for rejecting the proposal. 1. How many  phone calls does she want to make with 99 Iphone 6 S? 2.  Why didnt he buy her a ring? Were all 99 phones supposed to ring? 3. After spending fifty thousand pounds on useless gadgets what will their wedding fund be like? 4. After the wedding what will the marriage be built with? Iphones? Please if he didnt have anything better to do with his money, he could have just given it to charity, Not all women are after material possessions especially 99 Iphones. With his dumb mind he could have bought her a car. I need to figure out this individ...

Baby's Age

Image
I grew up in the time when a child's age was calculated in years. I moved to the United States in my late teens and realized that it was calculated in months until it sounded too much, anything past 24 months is already a pet peeve for me. Why cant you simply say the child is 2? Some say "my daughter is 29 months" i really don't have time to count. Maybe i should tell you my age in months, about 360 months, does that sound appropriate, will your math immediately kick in or would i have to hand you a calculator?I guess i would just look stupid saying so, A lady brought her cute little son to my job,he related well with me and was very observant, i asked  ME:How old is he? WOMAN: He is 17 months There was an awkward silence as i tried to do the mental math in my grey cells which are no longer math accurate, (after college my math skills only applied to counting money) ME: A year and five months. WOMAN: Is that 17 months? I gave her the look, the one tha...

HEY DADDY!!

Image
Its my dad's birthday today coincidentally as i write this post. Happy Birthday Daddy !!! Oops Dad. "Hey Daddy" i thought it was just a song. Yeah Usher in the lyrics is letting his woman know that "Daddy"  is home. Apart from watching a very visually interesting video, it seems to be a lot of women's reality. Sisqo also came up with a song about a decade ago talking about "Who is your daddy?" So what's up with girlfriends, these days calling their "boyfriends" not "husbands" the word "DADDY". There is even a Facebook page for women who call their man "Daddy" Well i cannot fathom calling my man "daddy" though not yet!!!  . I mean it is a personal thing for different people. I just find it awkward to call my man a name i have been calling my father for so many years, i believe he alone should have that title. Some women love to call their man  "daddy" and some men being called "...

COMMONLY MISUSED WORDS

Image
Before the advent of Facebook and other social networks I believe people wrote spoken English correctly. It was so much fun to read back then due to the excitement of learning new words and reading people's ideas and stories. I would assume that as we got older and from our reading experiences we would be better writers. Most people gained that knowledge during their learning process but these children born after 911, I swear they freak me out with their writing. Text messaging is just a way of having basic conversation with people when you don't have the opportunity to speak over the phone. It also goes to show how people construct sentences. Apart from typos, i have read text messages that would make one want to end the conversation right there, and i have a lot of pet peeves.Somehow i am also not surprised why people fail written English. Text messaging has made it worse, all these abbreviations. LOL! OMG !LMFAO! CTCU! I mean i am not exempt but i can at least wri...

SEX AFTER HOW MANY DATES PLEASE?

Image
There is a disclaimer on this post. This post only applies to sexually active people who are not married. It does not in any way apply to celibates or virgins so in terms of giving opinions, speak from the stance of a sexually active person in a relationship. Please i love Jesus as much as you do, do not bring any Christian mother talk into this. There is this in my own opinion "urban legend" that having sex on the first date makes you a slut or a hoe and it is good to wait a few months to get respect and get to know each other. In the African society especially when i was growing up, it was very shameful to hear a story of a young girl engaging in sexual activity with any boy especially when they were not married. It was so easy to throw stones and make up stories of other worse things the girl would have done with the guy so as to look innocent or perfect. At 15, some girls in my class did worse things than "escorts". It doesn't make them bad people...

THIS MARRIAGE THING

Image
The marriage topic is interesting an can also be sensitive too. Lately most couples have been making unanimous decisions to get married and thereby increasing the amount of ankara i have decide to accumulate as aso ebi in my closet. It is a blessing to support couples who have made the big decision to do life together forever but really how long is that forever. Apart from the vows one will give at the altar "for better for worse" "for richer and for poor" "in sickness and in in health", "till death do us (them)part, how many of these vow actually last forever. I don't know if some people actually sit down to think out the significance of these vows before getting married or are those words just part of the ceremony, it is a question because nowadays ladies are most especially interested in getting the ring, putting on a dress and having a grand wedding reception and dealing with the real meaning of the vows later. If he/she experiences job lo...

SPARE THE ROD AND SPOIL THE CHILD

Image
The things that are happening these days are very ridiculous, compared to the days of age when I was born and raised, some of the things that these younglings do these days, one cant try it in the days of old. Back in the late 80s and early 90s when I was growing up, my mom would only give an instruction once, if she had to repeat herself, it would be with "koboko". For me it was not necessarily the cane itself, "koboko" could be a dirty slap, the soles of my moms shoes, any wooden spoon used in making fufu or garri or the twigs from the trees in the garden, the fear of those things alone was the beginning of wisdom for me. There was this fear that parents invested in their children, the fear of "if you mess up you are dead", these days it is the children who run things, some parents cant even correct their own children, the kids are remote controlling their parents. I met a parent who could not even tell her daughter "no". She always told her ...
